In order to run, ShortKeys requires a newer version of oleaut32.dll than is shipped with the original unpatched installations of Microsoft Windows 95, 98 or NT.

If the message "The ShortKeys installer has detected that this computer has an older version of oleaut32.dll" was displayed when you tried to install ShortKeys or if the message "The Shortkey.exe file is linked to missing export Oleaut32.dll:VarNot" was displayed when you tried to run ShortKeys, then you will need to install a later version of oleaut32.dll.

To update oleaut32.dll, download and install one of the following patch files from Microsoft's web site. You only need to one of these patch files.

For Windows 95, 98 and NT
VBRun60.exe - VBRun60.exe installs Visual Basic 6.0 run-time files.
VBRun60sp5.exe - VBRun60sp5.exe installs Visual Basic 6.0 sp5 run-time files

For Windows 98 only
DCOM98.exe - Extends the support for Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) for Microsoft Windows 98.

For Windows 95 only
DCOM95.exe - Extends the support for Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) for Microsoft Windows 95.
